Yes, an all-wheel drive (AWD) or 4WD vehicle is strongly recommended from December to March. The road to the chalet is maintained but can be slippery during snowstorms.
What is included in the rental?
The chalet is fully equipped: linens, towels, full kitchen (dishwasher, coffee maker, utensils), BBQ, firewood for the fireplace, kayak, pedal boat, 1000 Mbps Wi-Fi, free parking (4 vehicles), and access to the private beach.
Are pets allowed?
No, unfortunately pets are not allowed at the chalet in order to maintain a clean, allergen-free environment for all our guests.
Where are the nearest grocery store and pharmacy?
The nearest convenience store is in Duhamel (~10 min). The nearest full grocery store (IGA) and pharmacy are in Chénéville (~15-20 min). We recommend doing your main shopping before arriving.
How far is it from Ottawa?
The chalet is approximately a 1.5-hour drive from downtown Ottawa via Route 148 and Route 321. The drive is easy and well-marked.
How far is it from Montreal?
The chalet is approximately a 2.5-hour drive from downtown Montreal via Autoroute 50 West. It's a direct and straightforward drive.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is from 5:00 PM and check-out is by 10:00 AM. Flexible arrangements may be possible depending on availability — contact us to discuss.
What is your cancellation policy?
The 50% deposit is non-refundable. If you cancel more than 60 days before arrival, the remaining balance will not be charged. For cancellations within 60 days, the full amount is due. We recommend travel insurance.
How does payment work?
Payment is exclusively by Interac e-Transfer. A 50% deposit is required to confirm the booking, and the balance is due 35 days before arrival.

No, smoking is strictly prohibited inside the chalet. Smoking is allowed outdoors only, away from doors and windows.

The chalet has a 1000 Mbps (1 Gbps) fiber optic internet connection — ideal for remote work, streaming, and families with multiple connected devices.
Is there hunting nearby?
Yes, the area is in hunting zones 12 and 14. Papineau-Labelle Wildlife Reserve offers guided hunting packages. Seasons: moose (September-October), white-tailed deer (October-November), small game (September-March). A Quebec hunting license is required.
